Local Projects : Design, Fabrication & Performance analysis of a Hovercraft for rescue operation suitable for Armed Forces
Project Overview:
With the advent of the current millennium, the demands for high tech conveyances are increasing every day. To incorporate revolutionary features such as travelling both in water and land, it is essential to design an efficient and effective means of transportation. Hovercraft is such a desirable vehicle that can be used in wide range of activities such as search and rescue of people and goods during floods or other unfavorable circumstances where traditional vehicles will not be a feasible option.
In addition to that, hovercraft can be used in patrolling in coastline and other inaccessible/remote areas to protect the country from smuggling as well as other illegal activities. Exploration for oil and gas, surveying the lands of remote areas, and other important activities will increase the demands of hovercraft.
Hovercraft is being used in many other countries. However, Tech Shield is the first company in Bangladesh which is designing, assembling, and maintenance of hovercraft.

Local Projects : Wind Tunnel
Project Overview:
Wind tunnel is used to investigate the aerodynamics of aircrafts, automobiles, and so on. It is like a gust of wind flowing throw an engineered duct. Many essential experiments are conducted in wind tunnel to understand the fluid mechanics. This facility is required not only for laboratory works but also for research and development. Tech Shield has designed and developed wind tunnel in the fluid mechanics lab of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST).
The purpose of this facility is to determine the performance of moving objects and aircraft wings at different wind conditions. For postgraduate students, it is also leveraged for low speed aerodynamic research like lift and drag coefficient measurements for various shape objects, boundary layer distortion effect, etc.
